QRM Eliminators

QRM is a problem for us hams. A sea of noise, swamping the weak signals that we want to detect. As the saying goes, if you can't hear them, you can't work them.

There are a range of relatively cheap products that claim to be able to reduce QRM - the QRM Eliminator is one.
I bought one to see how well it worked.
Here are a couple of videos of me toggling it in and out. Video 1, Video 2
As you can see, it was like night and day - I was very impressed.

I think a lot of it depends on the second antenna you use. I have a long bit of wire, which is probably roughly the correct length for 80m. My guess is that the second antenna should be roughly correct for the frequency you are having problem with - a shorter antenna probably wouldn't produce such good results. But wire is cheap.

Also, please note that you should not transmit with one of these things inline, unless you have it correctly hooked up to your transciever's auxiliary antenna output so that it enables pass-through when you're transmitting. If not, your TX RF will destroy the small components in the QRM Eliminator.

I bought mine from elekitsorparts or of course you can find them on Amazon
